Srinagar, Feb 09 (Only Kashmir): Prominent socio-political activist Khalid Tufail has begin his journey to bridge gaps between the people of two divisions of Union Territory Kashmir Valley and Jammu.
In the past few months a group led by Khalid Tufail has been working tirelessly to forge unity among the people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly of the intellectual class in order to understand and bring resolution of the Socio-economic-political problem pertaining to Jammu Kashmir.
Talking to Onlykashmir[dot]in, Khalid Tufail said following the abrogation of Article 370, attempts were made by some certain elements to widen the gap between the two divisions, as such, we as a group consists of several known figures pledged to bridge the gaps for a larger interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We has been continuously visiting different areas of Jammu and Kashmir. During our visits we met people of different ideologies, like Mr. I d Khajuria, prominent Activist, Bhai Guru Dev Singh, Activist and Narender Singh Khasla, Activist and exchanged our views and suggestions regarding the decision of Central Government taken of 5thday of August, 2019. We also had a meeting with Mr. Bilal Ahmad Khan, President Haq E Insaaf Party, where the Unity of different political ideologies was kept the prime agenda.”
“Continuing the mission, a team from the John Ram Mohammad Singh Educational Trust headed by Adv. Ram Mohammad had a fruitful meeting with us and they assured full support to the mission. Mr. Mohammad Shareef Sarjat, Editor Rah Manzil and Chairman J&K Freedom Movement also assured the unconditional support to the mission of unity to get out of the present situation in the whole of Jammu & Kashmir. Lawyers Action Committee of Jammu, Convener Advocate Jameel Ahmad Kazmi who principally agreed for the support to the mission of unity. President of Shia Federation Jammu Division, Mr. Ashiq Hussain also expressed his desire to work with us for the promotion of peace and prosperity on whole of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh,” Khalid added.
Calling for dialogue between the communities of Kashmir Valley and Jammu, Khalid Tufail appealed Jammu and Kashmir youth to come forward to increase communication channels between different communities so that the misconceptions are reduced at every level.
