Srinagar, Nov 06: Acting upon the application filed by a prominent social activist of Kashmir Valley Mr. Naveed Bukhtiyar, the court has ordered the Police to submit the compliance report within ten days.
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir police in the length and breadth of Kashmir Valley last week confiscated two-wheeler vehicles, citing the reasons for” terrorism-related incidents in the Union territory.”
In his application before the court, the applicant Naveed Bukhtiyar raised serious issues of Bike seizing and alleged it the violation of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The applicant further terms this ‘illegal’ activity of police as a cause of mental agony, humiliation, and also against the fundamental rights of the masses.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the Addl. Spl Mobile Magistrate Mr. Shabir Ahmad Malik has directed SSP Srinagar to call the report from all police stations and submit the compliance report before the court within ten days.
Meanwhile, the public circles have lauded the efforts of Naveed Bukhtiyar for taking this issue to the court.
