Awami Awaz Party has backed the demand of Sumo and Taveera vehicles plying from Capital city Srinagar to North Kashmir and South Kashmir.
Since the shifting of main transport stands to Parimpora and Panthachowk a few years back, the Sumo and Taveera vehicles are the worst hit especially belonging to stand number 4 ,6 and Syed Meerakshah Stand.
Awami Awaz Party senior leader and Provincial President Adil Ismail Modi in this regard stressed that that entry has been restricted beyond the Parimpora area which causes great hardships to the commuters as well. The Taveera / Sumo transporters association has appealed to the honorable LG Manoj Sinha to allow them at least movement in the Batmaloo area.
Adil Ismail Modi observed that even Court directions had allowed 30 vehicles entry into areas like Batmaloo and other areas which is not allowed.
Traders of different areas supported the transporters especially Sumo and Taveera owners demand of granting them full permission into important areas as they too are suffering due to restrictions on them.
The Taveera and Sumo drivers stated that patients are suffering worst as they have to walk and toil a lot to adjoining hospitals and even drivers can’t go to homes with their own vehicles.
In view of these facts, the Taveera and Sumo association of these different stands appealed to honorable LG administration to allow in taking view of larger public interest the movement of their vehicles to the important area and they assure that they will ration vehicles in such a way that it does not create jams.
They also appealed to the IG traffic that kept the humane view of the issue and commuters needs and also appealed the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir in this regard. Awami Awaz backed all these genuine pleas and demands of transporters.
It was also seen quite injustice with them as SRTC related vehicles are allowed movement everywhere while as Sumos and Taveera restricted in a step motherly treatment.
