Dr. Prasana Kumar M.A, Ph.D. and D.Lit in English is a poet of global caliber. He also teaches English in Odhisa, in an exclusive interview with the Only Kashmir.in, Dr. Prasana talks to Rameez Makhdoomi.
Tell us a bit about your early days?
My name is Dr. Prasana Kumar Dalai born on 07.06.1973 in a small typical village Nandiagada under Kabisurjyanagar block Ganjam district Odisha. I belong to a middle-class farmer family. I have done my schooling and college from Kabisurjyanagar, M A English, and Ph.D. from Berahmur University.
Who are your favorite authors and whom you are influenced by?
My favorite Authors are John Keats, W B Yeats, and John Donne.
Where do you teach currently?
I am working as an English lecture in Kabisurjya Baladev vigyan Mahavidyalaya, Kabisurjyanagar Ganjam.
Some of the favorite poems authored by you?
My authorized poems are secrets of torment, Farewell Forever, Till the Dusk and many more.
What is your favorite genre?
My favorite genre is Romantic. I used to write with poetical images small having full-packed meanings.
How do you see the growth of literature in Odhisa?
The future of literature of Odhisa is quite bright. The culture and history of Odhisa is known to everyone around the globe. Now contemporary writers they are doing so well for the promotion of the literature Odisha and the Government of India are also supporting the writers for the promotion of literature.
A bit about your works especially your books?
Various world-class writers used to write in different colors and tastes, I have one genre that is Romantic, it’s pretty hard to concentrate in one genre it doesn’t mean I am not writing in another genre. Lots of concentration and hard work to achieve anything. I am really feeling proud somewhere.
How do you see prose writing?
Yes, writing Prose it’s a completely different technique, completely different from poetry. It has more precise than the poetry my poetry is full packed with images that carry a lot of meanings. But somewhere Prose is more important in Professional day-to-day life.
Your take on Indian writing traditions especially young writers?
Now I can’t defenestrate the young English writers ruling the world you will be surprised maximum numbers of Indian authors showed their talent to the world, It’s only patience and hard work without any hanky panky.
Young writers are in the limelight because they produce world-class English literature in India. I am proud of myself that I am a small particle of the young writers of India. Anything can be obtained by will and determination.
