Grand Event Milchaar held in Srinagar to promote Communal Harmony

Kaiser Farooq said such programs are aimed at boosting the Communal harmony that is of paramount component for the social, economic, and cultural development of any place.

In a bid to promote Communal Harmony among the people belonging to different religious, racial, cultural and lingual identities of Kashmir, a mega event titled “Milchaar” was held on Thursday at Tagore Hall Srinagar.

The event, organized jointly by K-Virus Group and Roshni Productions, was a package of different cultural programs, speeches and singing performances, amongst them the performance of young singer Gursaaz, joint performance by Arzoo Manzoor and Mehnoor Jan besides, short plays Aurat and 12 O’Clock achieved massive appreciation from the audience.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Assistant Director of Tourism Kashmir, Zeeshan Khan (KAS) stated that we must encourage harmony in which religious communities and other relevant parties need to shoulder responsibilities to uphold world peace. All religions seek peace, oppose violence, champion universal love, and preach goodness, Zeeshah added.

Amongst others, MLC Surinder Singh, Ashok Bhat, renowned filmmaker Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Harjit Singh, Journalists Rameez Makhdoomi and Bilal Bashir Bhat, and famous video editor Marin Mudasir graced the occasion with their presence.

Before his performance, singer Gursaaz while addressing the gathering stressed intolerance. He said intolerance is in a place like Jammu and Kashmir where people practice all the major religions of the world. On the occasion, he also announced that his team was working on a film, in which only the local artists will be entertained.

During the event Dr. Abdul Basit Naik’s book on women empowerment “Breaking the Stereotype” was also released, and each copy of the book was presented among women who are featured in the book.

Talking to media on the sidelines of event, one of the main organizers of the event Kaiser Farooq said such programs are aimed at boosting the Communal harmony that is of paramount component for the social, economic, and cultural development of any place. He said, unfortunately, in our society, communal divisions are deepening.
