Hundreds of students aged between 14-21 from different schools of Kashmir Valley, Friday marked their presence at India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) held at Kashmir University Convocation Complex in Srinagar.
Pertinently, Founded by Rishabh Shah in 2011, IIMUN is a youth-run non-profit organization that works in 220 cities and 35 countries to unite the world the Indian way.
Veteran actor Ravi Dubey guest of honor on the occasion while addressing a presser said “Although this is my maiden visit to Kashmir, however, I am very much impressed by the picturesque of Valley and the intellect mindset of young minds,” he said and added, I see Kashmir as a future global hub of art and culture.
Amber Fatima (17), one of the Senior Directors of IIMUN stated that Kashmir has a sound potential to form a global personality, adding the aim of the organization is to unite people. She said we will be having competition among students aged 14-21 in different fields to select them for National and International competitions respectively.
She said the main aim of all the IIMUN events is to help students overcome their fears and enhance their speaking, writing, and debating skills.
Samiha Abbas, a young dynamic student and Media Coordinator of the conference said IIMUN undoubtedly provides an opportunity for youngsters to be recognized for their talent not only on the National but International level as well.
Labeeb, one of the team members of IIMUN Jammu and Kashmir Chapter said presently we have 26 students aged between 14-16 and we are looking forward to bringing more talent to the fore.
Several talk sessions and lectures were delivered during the conference, besides cultural programs reflecting Kashmir’s rich Culture and tradition.
Hina Bhat senior BJP leader, Nasir Aslam Wani, and Salman Sagar from National Conference also graced the occasion.
