Kupwara: A one-day training-cum-awareness camp was organized by the Cooperative Department in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir to impart awareness regarding scaling up of activities for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
The program was organized under the guidance of Assistant Professor Regional Cooperative Institute of Management (RCIM) Chandigarh, Vansikha Ankur Sharma.
ADC Kupwara, Gh.Nabi Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion.
While enlightening about the Cooperatives, ADC Kupwara said that revival of Cooperatives is the top most priority of Govt which is being done through support in the form of various incentives to make cooperative societies competitive and viable in the market.
During the awareness camp, Information regarding 55 new initiatives of the government for cooperative societies was disseminated. Special focus of the programme was laid on CSC, Jan Ashyudi Kendra, Grain storage, LPG and petrol outlets, tax reduction for PACS and Computerization of PACS.
The event witnessed overwhelming response from people of Kupwara, besides it was attended by ARCs, field officers of DRCS Kupwara, officials from various Banks, member of PACS and various other Cooperative Societies in the District.
