Srinagar, June 10: The University of Kashmir (KU) is hosting the 68th Session of the Akhila Bhartiya Darshan Parishad (ABDP), focusing on “Kashmir Shaivism and Sufism.”
The three-day national conference, organized by KU’s Department of Sanskrit, brings together eminent scholars to discuss the philosophical traditions contributing to the region’s cultural and spiritual unity.
KU Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan emphasized the dialogue’s importance for cultural unity, while keynote speaker Prof E R Mathwale highlighted the contemporary relevance of these traditions.
ABDP President Prof Jata Shankar and Coordinator Prof Ajay Ghosh underscored the session’s significance in promoting philosophical discourse.
The event featured the release of “Darshanik Patrika,” showcasing recent philosophical research, and included a prize distribution for young scholars.
The inaugural session was conducted by Jyoti Sharma and Parveen Kumar, with Dr. K C Sharma proposing the formal vote of thanks.
