Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Making Contest: DIPR Declares Winners

SRINAGAR, JUNE 28: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) announced the winners of the ‘Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Making Competition,’ an initiative to promote local talent and highlight development in J&K.

Renowned Bollywood filmmakers Padma Shri Madhur Bhandarkar and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba judged the entries. Ompal Singh Sambyal’s “Melting Stones” secured first place, followed by Sandeep Bhagal’s “I am Valmiki” and Sumaiya Mir’s “Women Athletes of Kashmir” in second and third places, respectively.

Consolation prizes went to Atul Vinod Duggal for “Viksit Jammu Kashmir,” Irtizah Yousuf and Mantasha Binti Zahoor for “Naya Kashmir,” and Raghunandan Singh Charak for “Unicorn.” The selected films will be screened shortly.

The initiative successfully identified and encouraged local talent, providing a platform to showcase their skills and the region’s progress through their films. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from local artists and filmmakers.
