Taqdees Hoor Wins 50m Swimming Race at Water Sports Meet in Kashmir

Taqdees Hoor, a 6th-grade student from Legends School of Education, secured first place in the 50m swimming race at the 6th Water Sports Meet – 2024.

The event was organized by the Swim N Survive Society Kashmir and the Underwater Sports Association of J&K and featured 120 swimmers aged 6 to 58, competing in 15 competitions.

Hoor’s parents, Mr. Sajad Ahmad and Ms. Sabiya, expressed immense pride and joy at their daughter’s achievement. They highlighted the dedication and hard work Hoor put into her training, acknowledging the support and encouragement from her coaches. They also expressed their gratitude for the platform provided by the event, which allows young swimmers to showcase their talents.

The closing ceremony was attended by prominent guests, including Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Director of Handicrafts Handloom Kashmir, and Shafat Yahya, Joint Director Budget. A. R. Bhat, Chief General Manager of Jamkash Vehicleades Kashmir Pvt Ltd, the event sponsor, was also present, alongside SNSS-K President Shakeel Ahmad and other renowned swimming experts.

The guests lauded the winners and the dedication of the Swim and Survive Society Kashmir’s trainers. Junaid Shafi Sofi was named Best Swimmer, while Zaynab Ashfaq Bala and Muteeb Yaqoob were recognized as the most disciplined swimmers.
The event’s success was attributed to the support of Jamkash Vehicleades Kashmir Pvt Ltd.
