On Wednesday, Srinagar, Aug 22: National Conference (NC) formally entered into a pre-poll alliance with Congress ahead of the assembly polls.
The Congress 4th generation leader Rahul Gandhi, who also happens the Leader of Opposition in the parliament of India along with party national president Malikarjun Kharge met the NC leadership Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah in Srinagar.
As soon as the meeting ended, Dr Farooq spoke to the media and announced the pre-poll alliance with the NC-Congress-CPI (M) parties.
“The pre-poll alliance will be on all the 90 assembly seats in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said, adding that NC-Congress and CPI (M) will fight the elections jointly.
