Srinagar: BJP Media Incharge Kashmir Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah strongly criticized the National Conference and Congress for assigning Choudhary Lal Singh as a star campaigner for the ongoing Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections 2024.
Terming Congress and National Conference Alliance a U-turn alliance the BJP leader said “Both parties had previously condemned Lal Singh’s controversial stance during the Kathua rape-Murder case, but they are now promoting him as a key figure in their election campaign.”
It’s necessary to recall that Choudhary Lal Singh had expressed support for the rapists in the Kathua rape case, a position that was widely condemned. At that time, Congress and National Conference leaders had been vocal in opposing his actions and stance. However, their decision to seek his support for electoral gains now reflects a clear double standard and political opportunism.
This double standard not only indicates the moral bankruptcy of these parties but also shows their desperation to hold on to power at any cost, even if it means aligning themselves with individuals whose actions have brought shame to the nation.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve leaders who uphold their principles, not those who compromise their values for short-term political gains.
