Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Bank has partnered with Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to roll out interest-friendly, collateral-free loans for residential solar rooftop systems up to 10 kWp.
Consumers can now access these loans with just a 5% initial contribution for systems up to 3 kWp and 10% for up to 10 kWp, making solar power more accessible and affordable.
The scheme, which is 60% subsidized by the government, aims to increase solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
Over 3,200 consumers in Kashmir have already applied, with nearly 200 systems installed.
Additional support from major banks, including SBI, PNB, and Canara Bank, is also available, encouraging more households to switch to clean energy with flexible EMIs that adjust based on subsidy post-installation.
