Based on the events of the 2016 Nagrota army base attack, Penguin launched ‘Nagrota Under Siege’ by bestselling author Bhaavna Arora in Chandigarh on Sunday. The book provides a vivid narrative of the November 29, 2016, terrorist attack on Nagrota Army Base in Jammu & Kashmir, showcasing the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Indian Army.
The event was graced by Maj Gen Neeraj Bali SM, Lt Gen A K Sharma UYSM, YSM, SM, Lt Gen Deependra Singh Hooda PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM & Bar, ADC, and Meenu Shekhawat. Bhaavna’s book offers a meticulously researched account of the fateful day when three heavily armed terrorists infiltrated the base, sparking a harrowing confrontation.
The attackers, equipped with arms, ammunition, and supplies for a week, aimed to create a hostage crisis. Despite being caught off-guard, the Army and paramilitary forces swiftly mounted a heroic defense, neutralizing the attackers and saving countless lives. The operation, which claimed the lives of seven gallant soldiers, is a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces.
