Srinagar, November 30, 2024: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K hosted its Health Conclave 2024, themed “Health Reimagined: Strategies for a Better Tomorrow,” at Hotel Golden Tulip, Srinagar. Government officials, healthcare experts, and industry leaders discussed key challenges and opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir’s healthcare sector.
Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Mr. Satish Sharma, the Chief Guest, emphasized mental health, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives like mobile clinics. Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, addressed the conclave virtually, highlighting PPP models, rural healthcare access, and resolving AYUSHMAN Bharat claims by December 31, 2024.
MLAs Mr. Salman Sagar (Hazratbal), Dr. Sajad Shafi (Uri), and Mr. Waheed ur Rehman Para (Pulwama) stressed addressing gaps in public healthcare, affordable healthcare in remote areas, and upcoming policy discussions. Mr. Sanjiv M Gadkar, CEO, State Health Agency, emphasized the revised AYUSHMAN Bharat package pricing.
Key industry leaders, including Dr. Shanty Sajan (Paras Healthcare), Dr. Shuchin Bajaj (Ujala Cygnus), and Mr. Probal Ghosal (Ujala Cygnus), underscored the role of AI, technology, and CSR in healthcare. Other prominent speakers included Mr. Aijaz Khan (Bajaj Allianz), Mr. Nigam Gupta (Hexa Med Technologies), Mr. Faizan Mir (J&K Private Hospitals), Mr. Iqram Ali Shafiee (Shafiee Healthcare), and Mr. Sandeep Mengi (Maharishi Dayanand Hospital).
The conclave focused on equitable healthcare infrastructure, insurance coverage, and public-private collaborations, concluding with actionable recommendations for sustainable growth in J&K’s healthcare ecosystem.
