NIT Srinagar J&K triumphed over NIT Hamirpur by 23 runs in the finals of the All India Inter-NIT Faculty and Staff Cricket Tournament at NIT Silchar, Assam.
Batting first, NIT Srinagar posted 138/5, with Faisal Irshad scoring an unbeaten 52 and Aaqib Sheikh adding a quickfire 16. NIT Hamirpur’s bowlers, Manish (2/27) and Aman Kumar (2/29), made inroads but couldn’t restrict the total.
In reply, NIT Hamirpur managed only 115/6, with Vivek Tiwari (15) and Neeraj Dhiman (16) leading the resistance. NIT Srinagar’s bowlers, led by Dr Majid Hussain (2/22), restricted them to seal a 23-run victory.
Faisal Irshad was named Man of the Match, while Aqib Jan was the top scorer and Mustafa Zargar the highest wicket-taker for NIT Srinagar. The tournament, hosted by NIT Silchar, saw 20 NITs participating.
