Srinagar, Jan 25: Jammu and Kashmir has been honored with two Padma Shri awards ahead of Republic Day 2025, as announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Farooq Ahmad Mir received prestigious recognition in the field of Art, while Lalit Kumar Mangotra was awarded in Literature and Education.

The Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, is given for exceptional and distinguished service across disciplines such as art, literature, social work, science, and more. These awards are announced annually on Republic Day and presented by the President of India in a ceremonial event at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
