New Delhi: For the third year in a row, the 76th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path (formerly Rajpath) in the national capital, New Delhi, did not feature a tableau from Jammu and Kashmir.

“For the third consecutive year, the tableau of Jammu and Kashmir was not showcased during the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path. Jammu and Kashmir will get a chance to display its rich cultural diversity and socio-economic progress only after the year 2026,” an official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Onlykashmir.in

The absence of Jammu and Kashmir’s tableau is not limited to these three years. The tableau also missed the opportunity in 2021. However, it was displayed the following year, in 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the inclusion of any state or Union Territory (UT) tableau in the Republic Day program at the national level involves several stages of competition and trials. Many states and UTs are excluded during this process, losing the chance to be featured.

Notably, the tableau of Jammu and Kashmir has achieved first place multiple times in the past, securing the top position in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002.

Meanwhile, the Jammu & Kashmir Rifles Regiment was among the Indian Army contingents that marched at Kartavya Path today. Additionally, Officer Ekta Kumari of the Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Directorate led the all-girls NCC (SW – Girls) marching contingent.

A total of 16 tableaus from various states and UTs were showcased at Kartavya Path today. Uttar Pradesh’s tableau, titled “Mahakumbh 2025 – Swarnim Bharat Virasat aur Vikas,” was one of the main attractions.

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto was this year’s chief guest at Kartavya Path on the occasion of 76th Republic Day celebrations.
