Breckenridge, Colorado – Team India claimed the bronze medal at the 2025 Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships with their stunning “Mind in Meditation” sculpture. The four-member team, led by Captain Zahoor Ahmad from Kashmir’s Singpur Pattan, included another talented sculptor, Suhail Khan, who is both deaf and mute.

The competition, held from January 20th to 24th in Breckenridge, saw 12 teams from around the world, including the US, Germany, Mexico, Finland, Canada, Mongolia, South Korea, Argentina, and Turkey, competing to create intricate art from snow.

Captain Zahoor Ahmad expressed his pride in the team’s achievement: “Despite the challenging conditions, Team India’s ‘Mind in Meditation’ sculpture stood out for its elegance and precision.” The sculpture features three hollowed, ring-like structures with faces protruding from the front, each showing a different expression.

Suhail Khan, who communicated through a team member, shared his joy, saying, “I am deeply proud of our achievement. For the past two years, I have represented India in this championship, and winning this award has filled me with joy.”

The judges, a panel of five professional artists, took over six hours to evaluate the 12 competing sculptures. Germany secured the gold medal with their “Apex — zero-gravity series,” while Mexico took the silver with “Descendant”.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Indian snow sculpting, showcasing the country’s talent and creativity on a global stage.
