CEPC Showcases Indian Handmade Carpets at Bharat Tex 2025

New Delhi, 14-17 February 2025 – The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) proudly participated in Bharat Tex 2025, a premier global textile event held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 14-17 February 2025. With over 70 esteemed member exporters, CEPC showcased an extensive and diverse range of carpets and floor coverings in Hall 1A, underscoring the exquisite craftsmanship and artistry of Indian weavers. Complementing CEPC’s representation, several independent carpet exporters also exhibited their collections, reaffirming India’s dominant position in the global handmade carpet industry.

The prestigious event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, and Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita. The inauguration was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Ms. Neelima Shah, Secretary (Textiles), Ministry of Textiles; Shri Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles; Ms. Shubhra, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles; Ms. Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles; along with Chairmen and Executive Directors of various Textiles Export Promotion Councils.

One of the key highlights of CEPC’s participation was the exclusive Theme Pavilion, established in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT), Bhadohi. This pavilion featured a live weaving demonstration, captivating visitors with a firsthand glimpse into the meticulous craftsmanship and heritage techniques employed by India’s master artisans.

On the second day of the event, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, visited the Carpet and Floor Covering Hall, engaging with exhibitors and appreciating the wide array of innovative designs and new collections on display. The Minister lauded the exhibitors for their dedication and their significant contributions to the industry, recognizing their role in elevating India’s stature in the international handmade carpet market.

Exhibitors expressed their appreciation for the platform provided by Bharat Tex 2025, emphasizing the invaluable networking opportunities and business engagements it facilitated with international buyers. The event successfully reinforced India’s reputation as a global hub for premium handmade carpets and floor coverings.

A defining moment of pride for the industry came on 16th February 2025, when Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, formally inaugurated the event. His presence underscored the Government’s steadfast commitment to promoting India’s textile and handicraft sectors on the global stage.
