Srinagar, Feb 19, 2025: Four Kashmiri skiers—Hazika Binte Farooq, Ayan Tariq, and Faizan Ahmad Lone—along with Jannat Thakur from Himachal Pradesh and coach Mehraj Din Dar, have been selected for the prestigious FIS Alpine Training Camp 2025 in Beijing, China, from Feb 19 to March 1.
Gold medalist Hazika, a rising star in Indian skiing, has won multiple national titles, including at the Khelo India Winter Games and National Skiing Championship. Training at the Olympic-standard Yanqing Ski Resort will enhance their skills and boost Kashmir’s presence in global winter sports.
Coach Dar and Hazika’s parents expressed pride and optimism, hoping this opportunity will inspire more Kashmiri athletes. The Indian Olympic Association and Ski and Snowboard India played key roles in securing this international exposure.
