Srinagar: Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS), in collaboration with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), organizes Women’s Football Referees Workshops across India to upskill over 170 women match officials. The workshops will be held in Srinagar (Feb 21-22), Kolkata (March 1-2), Shillong (March 8-9), Chennai (March 15-16), and Mumbai (March 19-20).
The sessions aim to strengthen refereeing standards and promote inclusivity, led by expert AIFF instructors, including FIFA World Cup official Uvena Fernandes and former national team captain Maria Rebello. Indian football star Ngangom Bala Devi praised the initiative, highlighting its role in empowering officials for national and international competitions.
Since 2022, RFYS and AIFF have trained over 620 coaches and match officials, contributing significantly to the growth of women’s football in India.
