Winners of Naseem Arfi ‘Urdu Media Awards’ Announced; Ceremony Scheduled for April 12

Hyderabad, April 7– The CETI Foundation has revealed the recipients of the inaugural Naseem Arfi ‘Urdu Media Awards,’ celebrating excellence in Urdu journalism. The prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ will honor a prominent senior multilingual journalist based in Delhi, acknowledging their remarkable contributions to the field.

In the category recognizing Urdu journalists from Telangana, two seasoned professionals will be awarded for their nearly three decades of dedication to Urdu journalism. From other regions, a young fact-checker and a notable feature writer have also been selected for their impactful work in the industry, showcasing quality content that resonates within the community.

According to a press release from the CETI Foundation, these awards have been established to commemorate the legacy of a distinguished Urdu journalist who devoted over 50 years to the promotion and service of Urdu journalism. The Foundation aims to sustain this initiative annually for a decade as a tribute to his enduring influence.

The selection process was carried out by a panel comprising esteemed journalists, educators, and intellectuals, who evaluated candidates based on multiple criteria to determine the winners.

Each awardee will receive a cash prize of ₹15,000 along with a certificate of appreciation, while a Special Award will be presented honorarily. The award ceremony is set to take place on April 12, 2025, at 4:30 PM at the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists Building, located in Fateh Maidan Abids, Hyderabad.

The event will be presided over by the Chairman of the Media Academy from the Government of Telangana, with the Chief Guest being the Chairman and Managing Director of a prominent media group. The ceremony is expected to attract various distinguished personalities, enriching the occasion with their presence. Additionally, panel discussions will be conducted to further engage attendees.

The founding Managing Trustee of the CETI Foundation expressed that these awards aim to honor journalists committed to the principles of truth, integrity, and diversity within Urdu journalism. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to inspire emerging journalists and elevate the standards of the field.

The CETI Foundation, a voluntary organization dedicated to uplifting socially disadvantaged communities, was established in 1980 by visionary leaders focused on addressing social, educational, and cultural challenges. It was officially registered as the CETI Foundation in 2011, continuing its mission under the guidance of its founding Managing Trustee.
