Students pursuing the 5-year integrated B.A.LLB course at Kashmir University are grappling with significant disruptions to their studies.
Students told Onlykashmir.in that “The primary issue is a severe shortage of faculty, which has limited classes to just one or two per day. This has led to substantial wastage of time and hampered the academic progress of the students.”
The students alleged, that the program, originally designed to be completed in five years, is now stretching beyond six years due to staffing issues and the absence of a structured academic calendar for examinations.
“This delay is causing frustration among students and jeopardising our future career prospects, as many enrolled with the expectation of graduating within a reasonable timeframe.”
The students have appealed, the Lieutenant Governor, and the Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University to intervene urgently, calling for immediate action to address the staff shortage, establish a clear examination schedule, and streamline the academic process to alleviate the difficulties faced by students and other stakeholders.
There was no official response from the university administration regarding the matter, when contacted.
