New Delhi/Lahore: In light of renewed cross-border tensions and the suspension of the Kartarpur Corridor pilgrimages, Aaghaz-e-Dosti, a cross-border peace initiative, has called for urgent de-escalation and dialogue between India and Pakistan.
Expressing concern over the humanitarian fallout, especially for border communities and divided families, the organization emphasized that peace must be nurtured through trust-building and empathy, particularly among the youth. “Escalation not only endangers lives but sows seeds of division that can persist for generations,” it said.
Highlighting the disruption of people-to-people exchanges and the tightening of visa regimes, Aaghaz-e-Dosti urged both governments to act with wisdom, restraint, and a shared vision for regional stability.
Founded in 2012, Aaghaz-e-Dosti remains committed to fostering peace through citizen diplomacy, education, and cross-border friendships, even in the face of political challenges.
