Tulmulla: The first batch of Kashmiri Pandits, led by Naveen Gosani and Muktesh Yougi, arrived at the revered Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal district, on Friday marking the beginning of preparations for the Mela Kheer Bhawani, one of the most significant festivals for the Kashmiri Pandit community.
The festival, set to be celebrated on June 3, is expected to draw a large number of devotees, particularly Kashmiri Pandits, to the sacred site.
The pilgrims were warmly welcomed by a group of local dignitaries, including Qazi Umar of the Qazi 11 Cricket Association, Lar Ganderbal, Bhat Aftaf of the International Ahamiyat Foundation, and members of the Makhdoomi Welfare Foundation.
Officials from the Ganderbal District Administration were also present to extend their support and ensure a seamless experience for the visitors.
Expressing gratitude for the heartfelt reception, the Kashmiri Pandits emphasized the importance of communal harmony and unity. The warm gesture from the Kashmiri Muslim community was hailed as a powerful symbol of coexistence and mutual respect.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, assured that comprehensive security arrangements are being put in place to ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration of the Mela Kheer Bhawani.
The Mela Kheer Bhawani, a vibrant celebration of faith and tradition, is anticipated to bring together thousands of devotees to offer prayers and participate in the rituals at the historic temple, dedicated to Goddess Kheer Bhawani.
