Bibi Fatima Society, in collaboration with Amandeep Hospital, holds successful blood donation drive

Srinagar, June 14: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, the Bibi Fatima Society, in partnership with Amandeep Hospital, organised a large-scale blood donation camp at Haj House, Bemina, aimed at promoting the values of compassion, community service, and medical support.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Gowher Mir, Chairperson of the Bibi Fatima Society, alongside General Secretary Mymoona Qureshi. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from healthcare workers, volunteers, and generous donors, all united by the goal of saving lives through the selfless act of blood donation.
The primary objective of the camp was to strengthen the region’s emergency medical support systems, aid patients undergoing surgeries, and spread awareness about the importance of regular and voluntary blood donations. The camp successfully collected around 30 units of blood, a significant contribution to the local healthcare infrastructure.
Prominent social activists and supporters of the cause, including Muzamil Mehmood (youth leader and social activist), Shabir Ah (known as the “Blood Man of Shopian”), Kawa Kaiser, Bilkees Ara (“Blood Woman of Kashmir”), and journalists like Ajaz Tantary and Latif Raza, were present and appreciated for their continuous support and service.
Speaking to the media, Gowher Mir expressed her gratitude to all individuals and institutions involved. She highlighted that the camp was a tribute to blood donors across the region and reaffirmed the society’s commitment to community welfare. “Our mission is to serve those in need, empower women, and raise health awareness through grassroots efforts and regular camps,” she added.
The event concluded with a strong message promoting volunteerism, unity, and social responsibility, leaving behind a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back to the community.
