In a plot twist straight out of a low-budget comedy, a man in Kupwara thought he could sweet-talk his way out of trouble with a bribe that probably wouldn’t even buy a decent cup of chai. Talib Peer, a resident of Lolab, was nabbed faster than you can say “corruption” after offering an “illegal gratification” to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Lalpora Police Station. His grand plan? To spring a seized JCB vehicle from the slammer. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.

The drama began when Kupwara police, during their routine “we’re-watching-you” patrol, caught a JCB vehicle rumbling around like it owned the place. Turns out, the driver was unlicensed, the paperwork was as real as a unicorn, and the vehicle was promptly impounded. Enter Talib, who apparently thought he could waltz into the SHO’s office, flash some charm (and maybe a few bucks), and roll the JCB back home. Instead, he rolled himself straight into a jail cell.

The police slapped FIR No. 33/2025 under Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act on Talib faster than you can say “bad life choices.” SSP Kupwara, Shri Gh Jeelani, and his no-nonsense squad are now digging deeper into the case, probably shaking their heads at Talib’s audacity. “We’re all about transparency here,” the police declared, likely while sipping kahwa and plotting their next anti-corruption sting.

Kupwara Police are now calling on citizens to snitch on any shady dealings, promising to keep the streets cleaner than Talib’s now-empty wallet. So, folks, let this be a lesson: if you’re going to bribe someone, at least make sure your JCB’s papers are in order first. Or, you know, don’t bribe anyone at all. Your call, Kupwara!
