Srinagar, June 30: In an unprecedented and emotionally charged development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met the families of Kashmiri civilians gunned down by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists over the past three decades.
This momentous initiative marks a turning point in the official recognition and honour of thousands of innocent lives lost in one of the most painful chapters of Kashmir’s history, a reality that remained buried under the weight of terror propaganda and political silence.

With eyes welled with pain and voices long unheard, over 80 families from South Kashmir shared their heart-wrenching stories with the Lieutenant Governor, breaking decades of silence. “For years, truth was buried. Now, the veil is lifting,” said the LG as he bowed before the victims’ families, acknowledging their grief, sacrifice, and endurance.

At the forefront of this historic reckoning stands Save Youth, Save Future Foundation, a relentless non-profit that has taken up the mammoth task of documenting stories of terror victims and fighting for justice for the long-neglected families. The foundation has become a candle of truth, courageously collecting testimonies, verifying untold atrocities, and building a detailed database of over 40,000 lives lost to terrorism since 1990, civilians, security personnel, even children.
The Foundation’s efforts have exposed a brutal reality: In most cases, no FIRs were filed, no voices raised, and no justice delivered. They’ve forced a reckoning with uncomfortable truths and brought long-suppressed facts into the national spotlight.
“Forgotten no more”: LG Promises Justice, Jobs, and Action
The LG declared that families entitled to government jobs must immediately submit their applications to concerned Deputy Commissioners, assuring appointments within a month. Those interested in starting businesses will receive financial aid and hand-holding support, he affirmed.
Crucially, he announced orders to register FIRs in all cases where they were never filed, a long-awaited step towards legal acknowledgment and justice. He further vowed that lands and properties encroached by terrorist sympathisers or separatists will be restored to the rightful families.
The LG did not mince words: “Before 2019, terrorists were glorified. Funerals were held for killers, while thousands of slain common Kashmiris were left to rot in silence.” But, he declared, this is a new India. “We are not just recognising the victims — we are holding their killers accountable.”
He slammed Pakistan as a “global terror hub” and “the world’s biggest beggar,” contrasting it with India’s ascent as the 4th largest economy. “While our youth are building tech startups, Pakistan sends theirs to terror camps. But with Operation Sindoor, we’ve drawn a new line, and any misadventure will be crushed.”
Truth Over Terror: Families Expose Ecosystem of Lies
One by one, the families exposed the dangerous ecosystem that for decades painted Pakistani terrorists as ‘victims’ and Indian forces as aggressors, leaving real victims ordinary Kashmiris, silenced by separatist propaganda. They described how entire narratives were hijacked, truth suffocated, and those who spoke up were marginalised.
“Now, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and with the commitment of security forces, we will reclaim that truth, one voice at a time,” the LG said.
He urged society to unmask the collaborators of terror hiding in plain sight and to shatter the silence that enabled decades of bloodshed.
Today, as Kashmir writes a new chapter of acknowledgment, healing, and retribution, the Save Youth, Save Future Foundation stands hailed as a vanguard of justice. Their work has sparked a movement of remembrance, bringing the dead back into the fold of collective memory.
In the words of the Lieutenant Governor, “No more silence. No more lies. The voices of terror’s victims will echo across India and beyond. And to those responsible — in Kashmir or across the border, we say: Your time is up.
