Brasília – Prime Minister Modi was warmly received today at Brazil’s Alvorada Palace by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in a ceremonial welcome. The event included full military honors, symbolizing the strength of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
During the occasion, both leaders engaged in friendly discussions, focusing on bilateral cooperation in trade, environmental initiatives, and technological advancements. The visit is expected to pave the way for new agreements that will further solidify the strategic partnership between India and Brazil.
Following the ceremony, President Lula hosted a state banquet attended by top-level officials from both countries.
In a grand ceremony held in Brasília, President Lula conferred Brazil’s highest civilian award, The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross, on Prime Minister Modi. The honor recognizes the deep bilateral relations between the two nations and acknowledges the Prime Minister’s distinguished contributions on the global stage.
During the event, President Lula praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and commended his efforts in promoting trade, environmental protection, and regional stability. Accepting the award, the Prime Minister expressed his commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Brazil. The ceremony was attended by senior officials and diplomats from both countries, followed by a formal dinner.
