SRINAGAR, JULY 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday inaugurated the ‘Bharat Sanrachna J&K 2025’ exhibition and public outreach initiative in Srinagar, highlighting the Union Territory’s journey of development and issuing a stern warning against divisive elements threatening communal harmony.
Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha cautioned individuals spreading false and dangerous narratives. “Some people are giving irresponsible statements by saying that guests are spoiling the culture of J&K. They are stating there is a demographic invasion and alcoholism is spreading. This is the similar narrative as of terror outfit TRF. I appeal to those making such statements to stop peddling such narrative. We have already lost many innocent lives due to similar statements in the past,” he said.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering justice to the families of terror victims. “We are honoring and delivering justice to real terror victims of Kashmir valley. I recently met terror victim families in Anantnag. SRO-43 was compromised in the past. Instead of those who are entitled for jobs, the killers were granted jobs under SRO-43. Whoever misused the SRO-43, will face the action,” he said.
Sharing the broader picture of national growth and J&K’s transformation, LG Sinha said, “Since 2014, our great nation is rapidly moving towards becoming a global superpower with new resolve, new thinking and a new roadmap. Within 6 years, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has written a new history of J&K. It is new J&K where children have pens in their hands and not stones, schools and colleges remain open throughout the year, where calendars of international programmes are published instead of bandhs and strikes.”
Highlighting the youth-centric progress, the LG added, “It’s a new J&K where our youth is achieving new heights in innovation and research. They are now focusing on startups and launching their own ventures. Instead of slogans of separatism, the noise of factories, tourists, and people’s laughter is now being heard.”
He informed that in the last 5-6 years, J&K’s economy has doubled, and the UT has emerged as a favourable investment destination. “More BPOs are coming up. J&K Bank, which was once in a loss of ₹1300 crore, is now in profit with ₹1700 crore,” he said.
He noted that J&K is writing a new golden chapter by offering equal opportunities to deprived sections, farmers, women, and youth. “What was previously impossible in J&K has been made possible,” he asserted.
Projecting a vision for the future, LG Sinha said, “The next 22 years can be golden years for Jammu and Kashmir during Amrit Kaal, provided we give the new generation an opportunity to play a big role in nation-building. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Central Schemes and Innovations will shape our youth’s dream into reality. I look forward to the day when J&K youth join the space sector and become astronauts.”
Lauding the ‘Bharat Sanrachna J&K 2025’ initiative, LG Sinha said the initiative is aimed at creating awareness about government schemes, welfare programmes, and showcasing technology-driven development across various sectors. “The two-day mega exhibition will engage youth, students, farmers, and entrepreneurs with real-time exposure to government services and strengthen the bridge between people and governance,” he added.
He emphasized the importance of educational visits to the exhibition, urging schools and colleges to attend in large numbers to motivate students.
The exhibition features participation from several central ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Space, Bureau of Indian Standards, Indian Council of Medical Research, Ministry of Tourism, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
The 3-day event will include interactive exhibitions, live demonstrations, hands-on experiences, expert talks, workshops, skill zones, career guidance sessions, youth empowerment modules, and a showcase of local success stories.
Prominent attendees included Rajya Sabha MP Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Tarmeh Events Director Shri Tarun Jain, officials from central ministries and UT administration, innovators, entrepreneurs, and large numbers of youth.
