Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday engaged with members of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Srinagar, underlining Jammu and Kashmir’s growing stature as an emerging hub of trade, commerce, and industrial investment.

Appreciating the ICC’s efforts to foster collaboration between businesses, the Lieutenant Governor said the meeting would serve as a significant platform for networking and new partnerships for local entrepreneurs.

“India is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. For us, relationships are not transactional; they are rooted in compassion and brotherhood. Our cultural heritage and traditional values have made our economy resilient and established India as a great and powerful nation,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.

He noted that holding the ICC session in Srinagar was not just an economic milestone but also a symbolic affirmation that “no terrorist force can ever subdue India.” He added that the event would inspire industries in J&K to scale greater heights.

Highlighting the Union Territory’s transformation in recent years, Shri Sinha said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir is experiencing an “industrial revolution” and has positioned itself as an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign investors.

“We have achieved historic milestones in road, air, and rail connectivity, extending the reach of industrial investment to every corner of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor lauded ICC’s role in policy advocacy, global partnerships, and creating a business-friendly ecosystem, describing it as a vital pillar in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047. He also expressed gratitude to business leaders for their contribution to strengthening India’s economy and assured full institutional support to investors willing to explore opportunities in J&K.
