Prime Minister Narendra Modi has broken his silence on the insulting remarks made against him. PM Modi today targeted Congress and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) on the insulting remarks against his mother and said that this incident is an insult to every woman of the country and especially the women of Bihar.
Speaking via video conference at the inauguration of Bihar Jeevika Nidhi Sahakari Sangh, PM Modi said his pain had spilled over, as such comments were an attack on the dignity of all mothers.
During the Congress’s Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga district of Bihar, objectionable statements were made against PM Modi and his mother in the program.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the people of India blessed the son of a poor mother—a hardworking individual—and made him the Prime Minister. He asserted that this reality is difficult for the privileged class to accept.
PM Modi called upon the people of Bihar, especially its sons, to take responsibility for responding to the insult directed at mothers. He stated that wherever leaders of the opposition parties go—be it any street or city—they must hear the voice of the people saying that the insult to mothers will not be tolerated and any attack on dignity will not be accepted. He further stated that the oppression and assault by opposition parties will not be tolerated and accepted.
Pertinently, the incident involving insults directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother, Heeraben Modi, occurred during the Congress party’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra” in Darbhanga, Bihar, on August 27, 2025.
A viral video showed a person using abusive language against PM Modi and his mother from the stage of the rally, which was associated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress alliance.
The individual identified as making the remarks was Mohammad Rizvi, alias Raja, a 20-year-old from Singhwara, Darbhanga. He was arrested by the Bihar police and sent to 14-day judicial custody following the incident.
Some reports also mentioned the speaker as a minor, and local Youth Congress leader Mohd. Naushad apologized, stating the remarks were made when he was not present and that the individual’s microphone was immediately taken away.
