The Indian men’s hockey team has clinched the Asia Cup Hockey Tournament title with a commanding 4–1 victory over South Korea in the final held in Rajgir, Bihar. With this win, India has also secured qualification for the 2026 Hockey World Cup.
This marks India’s fourth Asia Cup title, adding to previous victories in 2003, 2007, and 2017. India dominated the final from the outset. Sukhjeet Singh opened the scoring within the first few minutes, giving India an early lead. The first quarter ended 1–0 in India’s favor.
In the second quarter, Dilpreet Singh extended the lead to 2–0. India continued their aggressive play, adding one goal each in the third and fourth quarters, taking the score to 4–0 at one stage.
- Korea managed to score a consolation goal in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough to threaten India’s control of the match.
With this convincing win, India not only lifted the Asia Cup but also made a strong statement ahead of the 2026 World Cup, showcasing depth, precision, and dominance on the field.
