Srinagar: The International Convention of Event Industry (ICEI) on Monday announced that its flagship event “Hindusthan 2025” will be hosted in Srinagar for the first time to position Kashmir as a prime destination for luxury weddings and major events.

Addressing reporters at Hotel Radisson Srinagar, ICEI President Rituraj Khanna said Kashmir deserves to be developed as a “wedding city.” ICEI Chairman Gunjan Singla added that the expo, initially planned in Macau, was shifted to Kashmir after the Pahalgam incident. “The Chief Minister will inaugurate the ‘Wedding Kashmir’ expo tomorrow, featuring a mock wedding event,” he said.

Prominent hotelier Mushtaq Chaya noted that Kashmir’s climate and natural charm make it ideal for the wedding industry, expressing hope that “Hindusthan 2025” will open new avenues for tourism and business.

Themed “Wed in Kashmir,” the two-day convention will take place on September 9–10 at SKICC, bringing together over 200 wedding planners, event professionals and cultural voices from across India.

Organizers said the conclave aims to highlight Kashmir’s potential as a wedding hub while creating sustainable livelihoods and integrating local culture into the global wedding economy.
