In a remarkable celebration of courage, patriotism, and women empowerment, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today flagged off its third Women’s High-Altitude Bike Expedition from the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar. The expedition, comprising 33 spirited women bikers riding 350cc Royal Enfield Bullets, will traverse a challenging 1,400 km route through the rugged Himalayan terrain from Srinagar to Pangong Tso in Ladakh and back.

The event was graced by G P Singh, IPS, Director General CRPF, who formally flagged off the rally. He was joined by Dr. Anamika Singh, President, CWA (CRPF), senior officers of CRPF, J&K Police, Army, and civil administration. The occasion also saw the presence of students from local schools, cultural performances including Rouf, and a spirited Taekwondo demonstration.
As a mark of respect and remembrance, families of 11 CRPF martyrs were honoured during the ceremony, underscoring the force’s deep bond with its soldiers and their sacrifices.
Speaking on the symbolic significance of the expedition, DG CRPF said, “This high-altitude mission reflects CRPF’s contribution to India’s internal security over the past sixty-six years. Flagging it off from Kashmir’s historic Lal Chowk fills me with immense pride and honour. The journey is a tribute to resilience, discipline, and the unbreakable spirit of CRPF women warriors.”
The seven-day expedition, led by senior officers Sh. Balabh Sharma, DIG, Brig. Sh SP Rai, DIG, and Sh. D.K Singh, DIG, will cover Srinagar, Leh, Khardung La, and Pangong Tso before returning on October 1, 2025. The ride, beyond its physical and strategic challenges, symbolizes national integration, women’s empowerment, and the spirit of adventure that defines the CRPF.
The initiative, blending endurance with symbolism, has been hailed as a vibrant representation of teamwork, grit, and the force’s commitment to nation-building.
