Dubai’s glittering night turned luminous with verses when Kashmir’s voice of ink and truth, journalist Rameez Makhdoomi, stepped into the world of literature with his debut poetry collection. The book titled “Ayesha Zaki – A Life in Poetic Fragrance,” a collection of some 32 poems, is more than just words on paper , it is a garland of emotions woven for the OTT Queen and cinematic legend Ayesha Zaki, a woman whose art has already crossed borders, languages, and hearts.
The launch unfolded amidst the grandeur of the Zee Gulf Green Summit and Awards 2025, hosted by WeTel World in association with Zee Media, where luminaries of the global stage gathered to celebrate not just cinema and sustainability, but also the power of poetry.
Among the dignitaries gracing the occasion were His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and former UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment; Bollywood stalwart Arbaaz Khan; filmmaker and producer Ayesha Zaki herself; Arman Khan, Director WeTel Group; Tarique Faridy, Editor and Channel Head, Zee Media Corporation Limited; and Professor Adil Matin, President WeTel Sustainability.
For Ayesha Zaki, the first Indian woman filmmaker in the UAE whose short films have touched millions through Dish TV, cable, satellite, and major OTT platforms, this evening was not just about recognition, but about becoming the very muse of a book. A woman who painted stories on screen now finds herself immortalized in poetry, her cinematic journey transformed into fragrance captured by Kashmiri ink.
For Rameez Makhdoomi, the journalist who has long chronicled stories of the world, this was a tender turning point: the unveiling of his heart’s first book. Having been in the field of journalism since 2009, Rameez has actively contributed to newspapers, and since 2014 he has been a prominent face on television, voicing perspectives on diverse issues of humanity. In recent years, he has also anchored some of the most prestigious events, bringing his eloquence and insight to audiences far and wide.
Each page of his debut work breathes with admiration, each verse dances with cinematic memories, and together they tell the tale of a star who continues to blaze trails from Dubai to the world.
