Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today felicitated Jammu and Kashmir’s talented craftspersons at the Pashmina Artisan Awards Ceremony in Srinagar, organised by the Pashmeena Entrepreneurs Makers & Artisans (PEMA) Foundation.

The LG urged citizens to “Buy Local and Empower Our Great Artisans,” highlighting that India’s growing middle class can create a strong domestic market for J&K’s world-famous handmade products.

He praised Jammu and Kashmir’s rich creative heritage, noting that government initiatives since 2020 have significantly boosted handicraft exports and revived traditional artistry.

“These hands are not just weaving a product—they are weaving magic through every thread, every intricate design,” said LG Sinha.

The event celebrated excellence in traditional crafts with a special focus on the Pashmina sector. Senior officials, artisans, and industry representatives attended the ceremony.
