In a remarkable fusion of faith and progress, a seven-kilometre-long motorable road has been completed from Chandanwari to Zojibal, marking the first-ever motorable access en route to the revered Amarnath holy cave of Lord Shiva. The new stretch stands as a milestone achievement, transforming the pilgrimage route that has for centuries challenged devotees with its steep and snow-bound trails.
According to ancient legend, it was within the sacred Amarnath cave that Lord Shiva narrated the eternal secret of immortality—the Amar Katha—to Goddess Parvati. Devotees have long traversed treacherous terrains and icy pathways to catch a glimpse of the holy ice lingam, symbolizing the divine power and everlasting presence of Lord Shiva.
The newly constructed road now allows pilgrims to travel comfortably from Chandanwari to Zojibal, easing access while maintaining the sanctity and spiritual aura of the region.
