J&K Police Uncover Major Terror Recruitment and Logistics Network; Seven Arrested in Multi-State Operation
Srinagar, Nov 10: In a significant breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled an alleged terror recruitment and logistics module operating across the Valley, arresting seven individuals involved in radicalisation, recruitment, and facilitating the operational infrastructure of terrorist groups.
According to official sources, the accused were actively engaged in identifying vulnerable individuals, radicalising them, and recruiting them into terrorist ranks. The network is also alleged to have facilitated logistics, raised funds, procured arms and ammunition, and supported the preparation of IEDs.
The individuals arrested during the investigation include:
- Arif Nisar Dar alias Sahil, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
- Yasir-ul-Ashraf, Nowgam, Srinagar
- Maqsood Ahmad Dar alias Shahid, Nowgam, Srinagar
- Molvi Irfan Ahmad (Imam of a local mosque), Shopian
- Zameer Ahmad Ahanger alias Mutlasha, Wakura, Ganderbal
- Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie alias Musaib, Koil, Pulwama
- Dr. Adeel, Wanpora, Kulgam
The investigation has also unearthed potential involvement of other individuals whose roles are being scrutinized.
In a coordinated effort, J&K Police conducted extensive search operations in Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal, and Shopian. Further searches were carried out in Faridabad in collaboration with Haryana Police, and in Saharanpur with the support of Uttar Pradesh Police.
