Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025. The pageant was held on November 21 in Nonthaburi province, Thailand, near Bangkok.
The 25-year-old celebrated her victory on stage as viewers watched the end of what has been one of the most tumultuous editions in recent years. Mexico’s Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe, while Thailand was the runner-up.
This year’s Miss Universe was held in Thailand and it was announced that Puerto Rico would host next year.
The program has been plagued by major problems since its inception. First, there were claims that a candidate was treated unfairly and her intelligence was questioned, which angered many participants and some even walked out in protest.
Tensions rose and as the finale drew to a close, the host broke down and cried on stage, making the whole affair even more dramatic.
Bosch’s victory came after weeks of controversy over the pageant.
In early November, she walked out of a state ceremony after a Thai official publicly berated her in front of dozens of other contestants.
The official reportedly warned that any candidates who supported Bush could face disqualification. The moment quickly went viral on the Internet and divided pageant fans around the world.
