A development took place in the Jammu TADA Court during the latest hearing of the 1990 case involving the killing of four Indian Air Force officers.

A former Air Force staffer, who is a key eyewitness for the prosecution, identified several individuals allegedly involved in the attack.

According to the eyewitness statement recorded in court, the persons identified were Yasin Malik, Javaid Ahmad Zarger, Showkat Bakshi and Muhammad Rafi Nanaji.

The eyewitness confirmed their presence at the scene during the attack on the Air Force convoy in the Rawalpora area of Srinagar in January 1990.

The prosecution noted that this testimony strengthens the case, as the incident marked one of the earliest targeted killings of security personnel during the initial rise of militancy in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Javaid Ahmad Mir, while expressing dismay over the false reporting by a local news channel, clarified that his name was incorrectly mentioned instead of Javaid Ahmad Zarger.

The case was reopened after renewed investigative focus on pending militancy related matters. Further hearings are expected as more witnesses are scheduled to appear before the court.
