Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hoisted the Dharma Dhoja (flag of Dharma) amidst chanting of Vedic mantras at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted various aspects of the personality of Ram and said that his government is uplifting people from all sections of society by following the ideals of Lord Ram.
He appealed to the people to abandon the mentality of slavery, accept their heritage and come together to achieve the goal of a developed India.
He said that along with pride in their heritage, another important thing is complete freedom from the mentality of slavery. 190 years ago in 1835, an Englishman named Macaulay sowed the seeds of uprooting India. Macaulay laid the foundation of mental slavery in India. Ten years later, in 2035, this unholy incident will complete 200 years.
A few days ago, I had stressed in a program that we should move forward with the goal of freeing India from the mentality of slavery in the next ten years. It is the mentality of slavery that has rejected Ram. This mental slavery of some people has even led them to call Ram an illusion.
On this occasion, Sarsangh Chalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, besides renowned saints and religious leaders, were present. The event was organized by Champat Rai, Secretary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust.
