The 814th Annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty, fondly known as Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, concluded at Ajmer Sharif with a resonant call for peace, compassion and human fraternity, drawing over one million devotees from India and abroad.

Addressing national and international media, Gaddi Nashin of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, Haji Syed Salman Chishty, said the Urs reaffirmed the timeless teachings of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, whose message of love towards all and malice towards none continues to guide humanity after more than eight centuries. He recalled that Khawaja Sahib dedicated his life to serving the poor, the marginalised and the broken hearted, making Ajmer Sharif a universal spiritual refuge beyond barriers of faith or identity.

Referring to violence, terror and rising intolerance witnessed globally in 2025, he stressed that every innocent life lost is a moral failure of humanity as a whole. From the spiritual centre of Ajmer Sharif, prayers were offered for peace, justice and the safety of all vulnerable communities worldwide.

Emphasising India’s civilisational legacy of pluralism, he said Ajmer Sharif stands as living proof that faith should heal hearts, not divide societies. Calling upon leaders, institutions and media to promote dialogue and truth, he urged that 2026 be embraced as a Year of Hope rooted in justice, compassion and service.

The Urs concluded with prayers for global harmony, inspired by the enduring legacy of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz.
