New Delhi: Forty-five-year-old Nitin Nabin has been formally declared the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior party leaders.

A five-time MLA from Bihar, Nitin Nabin was the sole candidate for the party’s top post and received the support of Prime Minister Modi and other senior BJP leaders. BJP’s national election officer for the Sangathan Parv , K. Laxman, handed over the election certificate to him.

Former BJP President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were present during the Sangathan Parv. Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, national office-bearers, state unit presidents, and members of the party’s national executive committee also attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said that being a BJP worker is a matter of pride and described the party as disciplined, adding that in that sense, Nitin Nabin is now his boss.

The Prime Minister said the next 25 years would be critical for building a developed India, adding that young leaders like Nitin Nabin would play a crucial role in carrying forward the BJP’s legacy.

Prime Minister Modi also described infiltrators as a threat to national security and said the true face of parties protecting them must be exposed before the public.

He further blamed the decline of the Congress party on dynastic politics, stating that it is so dependent on one family that it hesitates even to review its electoral defeats.
