The second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in New Delhi. The meeting was co-chaired by India and the United Arab Emirates, and was attended by 22 Arab countries.
Addressing the inaugural session, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar stressed that the resolution of the conflict in Gaza should be given top priority.
The Foreign Minister also pointed out that the ongoing conflicts in Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon and Libya also require collective regional and global attention.
Highlighting the humanitarian dimension of India-Arab relations, the Foreign Minister said that the region is home to one of the world’s largest diaspora communities, making stability and mutual cooperation a common need for both sides.
Delighted to receive the Foreign Ministers and delegations of the Arab League today. The Arab world is a part of India’s extended neighbourhood, linked by deep civilisational bonds, vibrant people-to-people connections and enduring brotherly ties, as well as a shared commitment… pic.twitter.com/GSqth4nXEN
