Srinagar, Feb 2: As part of its sustained media outreach and professional exposure initiatives, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Srinagar, organised a national-level media tour to Kerala for journalists from the Kashmir Valley.
A 14-member press delegation, comprising journalists representing diverse media organisations from Kashmir along with PIB officials, is participating in the tour. The initiative aims to provide firsthand exposure to flagship Central Government programmes, key institutions, and development projects, thereby strengthening informed and constructive media engagement.
Before departure, Qazi Salman, Director, PIB Srinagar, briefed the delegation in Srinagar, outlining the objectives and significance of the visit. He encouraged the participating journalists to engage meaningfully during interactions with officials and institutions across Kerala. Congratulating the delegates, he expressed confidence that the tour would be professionally enriching and insightful.
“This visit will offer valuable insights into the functioning of key government institutions and foster stronger professional engagement. I wish all participants a productive and enriching tour,” Salman said.
The delegation is being led by Majid Pandit, Media & Communication Officer, PIB Srinagar, who is serving as the conducting officer for the tour. The Editor in Chief onlykashmir.in, Bilal Bashir Bhat is also part of the delegation.
As per the itinerary, besides a formal meeting with Governor of Kerela at Lok Bhavan, the journalists will visit several important Central Government establishments and projects in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, including infrastructure, cultural, scientific and wellness institutions. The programme also includes interactions with senior officials to gain a deeper understanding of policy implementation and institutional functioning at the national level.
The five-day media tour commenced on Sunday and will conclude on 7 February 2026, marking another significant step by PIB Srinagar in nurturing informed journalism and enhancing national integration through media exchange.
