Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board inducted four modern high tech ambulances into its public service infrastructure, establishing a dedicated emergency health network at major shrines in the Kashmir Valley for the first time.
The ambulances were formally inducted at Hazratbal by Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi in the presence of BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul as Guest of Honour. Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and Imam and holy relic keeper Ghulam Mohiuddin Banday were also present. The vehicles were flagged off for Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar, Babarishi shrine Tangmarg in Baramulla, Chrar e Sharief in Budgam and Aishmuqam shrine in Anantnag.
Ashok Koul praised the reforms under Dr Andrabi, calling the initiative a milestone in upgrading facilities at religious places. Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi said the ambulances, equipped with advanced medico emergency facilities, reflect the Board’s commitment to development, transparency and public welfare, and will benefit both pilgrims and local residents.
