Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India is stepping into a new phase with the resolve of building a “Viksit Bharat” as he dedicated the newly built ‘Seva Teerth’ to the people of the country. In his first address from Seva Teerth, PM Modi said the new buildings mark a decisive shift away from the colonial legacy and reflect the hopes of a modern India.

PM Modi said, “I can say with pride that Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavans are built to fulfil aspirations of 140 crore Indians, not of any monarch,” Modi said. India’s most powerful address changed on Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan 1 & 2, the new integrated complex that will house the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The relocation is a first since Independence.

South Block era ends: PM Modi holds the last cabinet meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired the final meeting of the Union Cabinet at the South Block in New Delhi, marking the end of an era for the British era Secretariat building. Following this meeting, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) officially shifted to a new complex, ‘Seva Teerth’, as part of the Central Vista redevelopment project. Hence, all government departments vacated the North and South Blocks — seat of power since 1921. Several Union Ministers, MoS were present in meeting, including: Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, ML Khattar, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, HD Kumaraswamy & others.

Lakhpati Didis, farmers & start-ups: First files signed by Modi at new PMO

In his first set of decisions after moving to Seva Teerth on Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved key initiatives benefiting farmers, women, youth and vulnerable citizens. They include: PM M Raath Scheme: Provides cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for accident victims. Lakhpati Didis target doubled: Goal was raised to 6 crore by March 2029, after crossing 3 crore ahead of schedule. Agriculture Infrastructure fund: Outlay doubled from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore to strengthen the farm value chain. Startup India fund of funds 2.0: ₹10,000 crore corpus to boost deep tech, early-stage ventures and advanced manufacturing.

Udyog Bhawan Metro is Seva Teerth Bhawan

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that the government has decided to rename Udyog Bhawan metro station as Seva Teerth Bhawan station. Speaking at the inauguration of two more Kartavya Bhavans, the minister said that they are working towards ‘Viksit Bharat.’
