Lieutenant Governor orders opening of more Tourist Destinations

After a detailed security review and detailed consultations, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday ordered the reopening of more tourist spots in Jammu and Kashmir provinces, which were temporarily closed following the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack in April 2025.

Eleven tourist spots in Kashmir Valley – Yusmarg and Doodh Pathri in Budgam district, Dandipora Park in Kokernag in Anantnag district, Pir Ki Gali, Dabjan and Padpawan in Shopian district, Astanpura and Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Thujwas Glacier and Hang Park in Ganderbal district and Wolr, Vitlab in Baramulla district – will be reopened with immediate effect.

Three tourist spots in Jammu province – Devi Pindi in Reasi district, Mahu Mangat in Ramban district and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar district will also be reopened with immediate effect.

Three places in the Kashmir Valley, Gharz and Athwatu in Bandipora district, Bangas in Kupwara district and one place in Jammu province, Ramkund in Ramban district, will be reopened after the snow clears.
